About Kesumi

These terms cover the Kesumi website and services operated by Marc Hoffmann. Kesumi supports activity tracking, budgets, savings goals, habits and optional AI features. The iOS app is also licensed under the Apple Standard End User License Agreement. Joining the waitlist does not guarantee access or a release date.

Your Data and Responsibilities

Kesumi is intended for personal finance tracking. You are responsible for the accuracy and lawfulness of the information you enter and for checking automatic imports and AI results. Protect access to your device and review your device backup settings. Kesumi does not operate a server-side backup of your activity database and cannot restore local records lost through device loss, app deletion or a reset. These responsibilities do not limit your statutory rights.

The backend is hosted on DigitalOcean and routes requests to the providers needed for the selected feature. Activity and AI request contents are processed temporarily rather than saved in a backend user database. IP addresses may occur in server logs. The Privacy Policy explains those logs, subscription verification, waitlist emails and provider processing.

AI Features and Your Choices

OpenAI acts as a data processor for the receipt scanning, categorization and monthly review features included in Kesumi Pro. The paywall discloses this processing before purchase. Agree and subscribe accepts these terms and explicitly permits the described AI processing when the purchase succeeds. The Privacy Policy explains the data sent for each feature. AI features remain available while your Pro entitlement is active, including until expiry after canceling renewal. Contact privacy@kesumi.app about withdrawing consent independently of your subscription. Only submit content you are entitled to share and remove unnecessary sensitive details from scans and descriptions.

AI output can be wrong or incomplete. Verify amounts, dates and categories; automated Apple Pay categories can be corrected in Activity. Budget and habit changes require your confirmation. Kesumi does not execute bank payments or guarantee savings. Its content is not financial, investment, tax, accounting or legal advice.

Subscriptions

Where a subscription is required, the paywall shows the price and billing period before purchase. Apple charges your App Store account and subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled through Apple subscription settings. RevenueCat manages access verification and restoration. AI features also require separate data-sharing permission and an internet connection. Beta access may differ from paid release access. Statutory cancellation and refund rights remain unaffected.

Cancellation, Restoration and Refunds

You can cancel renewal using Cancel subscription on the Pro plan screen, which opens Apple’s subscription management sheet, or in your Apple subscription settings. Deleting Kesumi, resetting activity data or withdrawing AI permission does not cancel a subscription. After cancellation, paid access normally continues until the end of the paid period shown by Apple, unless a refund or other change ends the entitlement earlier. Restore purchases uses the Apple account associated with the purchase; it does not restore local activity records.

Refund requests for App Store purchases can be submitted to Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com and are assessed under the applicable Apple terms and consumer law. We do not promise automatic refunds or limit statutory withdrawal, warranty or refund rights. Any promotional or trial conditions are shown with the offer; availability is not guaranteed.

Acceptable Use and Availability

Do not misuse the API, bypass access controls, disrupt the service or submit unlawful content. Service availability depends in part on Apple, RevenueCat, OpenAI and hosting infrastructure. We may maintain or update the service; mandatory consumer rights and agreed subscription obligations remain unaffected.

Restrictions and Service Changes

We may temporarily restrict API access where reasonably necessary to address abuse, unlawful use or an immediate security risk. Restrictions will be proportionate, and we will provide information and a way to contact us where appropriate. Maintenance and necessary updates may affect availability. Material changes to paid services will be handled in accordance with applicable notice requirements and consumer remedies; these terms do not give us an unrestricted right to remove paid functionality.

Intellectual Property and Liability

Kesumi branding and website content belong to their respective rights holders and may not be reused without permission or a legal basis. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for intent, gross negligence or injury to life, body or health. Statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.

Applicable Law and Disputes

German law applies to these terms. If you are a consumer, this choice does not deprive you of mandatory protection under the law of your habitual residence where applicable. Statutory jurisdiction rules apply; these terms do not require consumers to bring claims exclusively in Germany or submit to mandatory arbitration. You can contact us to seek an informal resolution without giving up your right to use the courts.
